How To Avoid that dreaded silence on a first date?
Right, I have a date with a beautiful girl tomorrow, and well im not nervous or anything but just scared that there will be an awqward silence, any tips to avoid this would be appreciated.|||find out all the things she likes, and talk about them ( even write them on a notecard if you cant remember them all) and she should talk about it pretty much the whole time, just seem interested and there wont be that awkward silence!!! Have Fun, and Good Luck!|||What works for me is to get some one-liners or stupid puns. Ya can't go wrong with puns....ok, well, maybe you can. lol but at least it'll be with a smile. XD or you could be all like "so, hows your day been? whats new in your world? do you know the muffin man?" jk about the last one.|||DONT go to a restaurant bowling or summat is best for first dates - and just be real anyway gud luck

If we told you youre right would you grant a moment of silence and STFU?
And stop whining about how all of us are going to hell.
Yes yes we know everything aside from Christianity is wrong...we get it.|||Before I answer your question, I have one for you. Why is it that so many people stereotype all Christians as Fundamentalists?
I'd be happy to "grant a moment of silence and STFU" whether you tell me I'm right or not. Not all Christians are Bible-thumping, loud-mouth, holier-than-thou types.
As a Christian, I do feel an obligation to love my fellow humans, which of course includes wanting everyone to know what I believe to be the truth and and wanting them to be with God in the next life but I don't believe in forcing my beliefs on anyone. I answer questions when asked, I enjoy a good theological discussion or debate and I share my theological research on the internet for anyone who's interested in reading it...but that's as far as I go.
As for Hell...I've done my research there too and according to the orginal scriptures, we're all going to hell while we wait for Judgement Day. It's not the place of eternal damnation that the Fundementalists teach, it's a waiting place for all of us. Jesus went to hell for three days before His ressurection.
And I don't believe that "everything aside from Christianity is wrong"
It would take me way too long to explain my beliefs but suffice it to say that, based on my research, no Christian church teaches the full truth. All of them have their misconceptions and untruths since the man-made Bible has very little in common with what was originally written.
Ok, I've had my say so I'll "STFU" now.|||Thank you. When I answer a question asked by a non-believer, I never expect my answer to picked as best. I was pleasantly surprised.
|||I don't believe in "preaching". It's fine for those that go to church and want to be preached to but it usually puts non-believers off and that is counter productive.
|||(They don't give us enough room for comments)
I don't actively try to "convert" anyone but I've found that my style of teaching has a tendency to be accepted more easily by non-believers, with less criticism.
|||if we gave you whatever answer you wanted for your asinine 'questions', would you grow up and stop asking them?|||But, when we tell them they're right, we have to have some sort of sign that we know means "psyche". A sign that only we understand, and not them, like a burp or some other bodily function.|||I don't know you, yet I get the sense that you're really cool...
That's awesome. :p|||that's what we need more in the world people who STFU|||Children love to ask IF questions.|||Hmmm. An interesting thought. What WOULD happen if we all planned a day of agreement with the Christians?
Yes, the earth is 6,000 years old. Yes, we're going to hell. Yes, we all worship Satan.
That could be fun.|||If somebody told me that Atheism is right, would I shut up? Probably, because I'd be dead of shock.|||I'm soooo glad I added you to my contacts- that was funny.|||They ain't going to give you any moment of silence. They was vaccinated with a victrola needle. Sad, really.|||no, they'd rejoice, which is even more obnoxious, the only way we get them to shut the ****** up is to start feeding them to lions again|||Nope, they would gloat...just like Jesus would have.|||STFU? isn't that John Cenas submission hold?|||If you get it why do we have to stfu, don`t you want to hear more after the moment of silence?
Bad day hugh?
I don`t think you are going to hell because you get it, and your right!
Jesus be with you, and may tomorrow be better.
Peace|||I usually just say in a sarcastic tone "uh huh" and walk in the opposite direction.
They have no way of proving that non-christians are going to hell, so I say let them have their pointless fun.

Either way, you're screwed without the cigarette afterward.|||I have an idea find another category or only read and answer questions that you do get?

Should I become a Democrat again?
I was a Democrat. I believe in free speech, not just liberal speech. I believe in equal rights, not special rights. I believe in free expression, not religion supression. I believe in respect for my country and for our government, which is, after all, ourselves.
I left the Democrats. I'm thinking of returning to make my vote heard on the Left. I'm tired of the crazy lunatics who keep undermining our country. Can I get any "Go for it!" shouts from fellow U.S. citizens on the Right? Are there any true Democrats still out there? Or are they all asking for hand-outs, socialism, special rights, and to silence all opposition at all costs, even their ethics?|||HEY WHY NOT ITS A FREE COUNTRY YOU CAN CHANGE IF YOU WANT TO.
CERTAIN PEOPLE WILL MAKE YOU FEEL VERY WELCOME.
MY FRIEND THE CHOICE IS YOURS.|||Why not be your own person? Work for and vote for those individuals and issues that you feel are important. Don't be concerned about party, rather, be concerned about results.
|||Vote for the individual and not the party.|||That is really up to you, the democrats are not what the repuglicans make them out to be. Yes they believe in social programs as a way to give a person a hand up, many of the welfare give aways have gone away as a social experiment that didn't work. Right now they are pushing for health care reform, that is a subject that is dear to my heart as I find myself unemployed due to a health condition and cannot work. I am living out of my savings and will be broke by the time I can retire in two years. So if I don't get some help with it I am going to be in real trouble. I know that I will vote democrat because they do seem to help the working man more then the repuglicans. While the repuglicans seem to help the rich and large corporations. f|||Of course you should. It is better than the alternative, isn't it?|||Sounds to me like you're a libertarian and not a liberal. Check out http://www.lp.org
One of our most decent congressmen is Libertarian Ron Paul from Texas, I'm sure his party could use a few more seats in the House.|||Whatever floats your boat. I'm more of an Independent myself, but to each their own.
If you strongly believe in the Democratic ideology, go for it.|||Well as I see only an idiot would join a polictal party. A "Real American" would look at "ALL" the candidates and vote for the best man for the job.
I would have thought the arm bands and party loyalty would have died with Hitler and all those closed minded people.|||No become a Communist! Communists will take over the world!!! Mother Russia!!!!|||No! Don't go back to the Dark Side!
I'm just kidding. Figure out what issues matter to you the most and vote accordingly.|||That sounds like a positive choice. Ultimately, we all vote for the individual we believe will do the best for our country.
If you feel like changing parties will help get someone out there worth voting for, I say go for it.
I like as many good choices as possible.
Landslide elections mean at least one party has failed to make a good choice in choosing their canidate.
Come to think of it, maybe I'll join you on the other side.

So I know this song is called Silence by lamb..I think..but is this Right?
I need to know if it is right or the cd that is on just more details. The lyrics are.........At last. I have left the tears. It took a while. It took a long time. But now I see. I learned to let go. It was the hardest lesson of all. But I gave you my love in silence.|||On the Amazon link (I searched each of the albums listed) and the lyrics link, I couldn't find any reference to a song by that name. If I find something, I'll edit my post....

I want to know if he likes me. ?
Okay, I've had a crush on this guy since, well, I first saw him. And I want to know if he likes me back. We share one class together (Algebra) and it's before lunch. I've caught him staring at me when he thought I was looking at the teacher. When I walk into the class room his looks at me. I think it was a few days ago that I saw him like stop and stare. We had a sub and I wasn't in my seat. His seat was one desk away. Before he walks into the room he stops and looks at me and smiles. He thought I didn't see because I was talking to my friend and plus it was from the corner of my eye so he probably thought it was my blind spot. And we finally talked on the last day of school for spring break. He listened to me, he was really sweet (my friend said he was mean...), we passed notes for a while (cuz I was doing the gay rights silence thingy. I failed bcz I talked to him) and we just clicked. My friend is going over board about this though. She thinks we're the perfect couple and we'll get married, have like 20 kids and a bunch of 'sex'. Anyways, do you think he likes me?|||Probably.
I see much procreation in your future.|||Not just "probably", like totally!
I wish there was this one girl who would like me too :(
Can you help me? And please don't make fun of me.

Will being bound by an oath of silence hold up in court/questioning?
Basically I hang out with a fair few undesirables, and they tell me about all the illegal things they do, but only if I swear not to tell anyone, recently I've lost contact, and shouldn't be involved in any of their crimes from hence forth. I was just wondering, if I were questioned, surely an oath of silence would give me the right to remain silent. If not how can someone be expectedto take the oath in court seriously?|||Yes, your oath of silence could hold up court proceedings until you regain your sanity.
You will be kept securely in jail until you do.|||The legal issue you're asking about is called "compellability."
You can generally be compelled to answer questions on anything in court, though there are a few situations that arise to prevent or limit this.
Defendants or their spouse/civil partner generally can not be compelled to give evidence in relation to the offence(s) charged. Exceptions apply.
Co-Defendants in the same proceedings are generally not compellable, though again exceptions apply.
You also have a privilege against self incrimination, so as a witness you have a right not to answer questions that would leave you open to future criminal charges. Again, exceptions apply. Some statutes make it an offence not answer certain questions, for example, but as a general rule those answers are not automatically evidence against you.
Your "oath of silence" does not give you any right to refuse to answer a question put to you. The oath in court should be taken seriously because failure to do so might get you locked up!|||You have the right the remain silent when you are arrested or otherwise interviewed by the police. However, in court you don't have that right. If you're summoned to court and you refuse to speak then you will be in comtempt of court. Contempt of court is a criminal offence for which you can be sentenced to imprisonment for.
Another option is not the be silent in court but rather to lie. This is a criminal offence also however: called perjury. This would probably be a better option though being that its quite obvious to the courts when you're in contempt of court in this instance (your lips don't move!) but not so obvious to tell if you're lying.
Hope this helps.|||You have not made an "oath of silence". You have merely promised not to talk about the illegal activities you have been told about. A simple promise not to do something would never be legally binding anyway, but even if it might be the legal system views any agreement to do something illegal (or cover it up) as void. So you have no right to remain silent.
In any case, even if your oath was genuine and would be respected, there are many other ways in which you could give evidence. For example, you could write down your answers to the questions that were asked.
At the end of the day, most witness can be compelled to give evidence, and can be found guilty of contempt of court or perjury if they refuse to do so or lie.|||I do not think so, if you have evidence that could convict someone and you refuse to divulge it because of a promise to someone you would be in contempt of court and could land in prison. You swear on the bible to tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.|||An oath of silence has no legal standing in any court I'm aware of. There is no honor among thieves and the court doesn't recognize any.|||ha ha nope, of course you can refuse to answer a question then you enter the realms of contempt of court..|||Well, it depends what your friends did, and if you know things that could help save someones life you shouldn't hold back. If you agreed not to tell anyone then theres nothing they can do, except try to force you out of it, but you should be careful, don't say your keeping a secret, just avoid questions. When they ask if they did anything illegal say "You have evidence of that yourself" or something. Outsmart them if it ever comes to it. But don't out-right lie. Sat they ask "Did you ever see them smoking canabis" Say no, because you never saw them. But if they ask "Do they smoke canabis" First ask if its something that charged for, if it is, your excuse is right there. If not, say you really don't know what they smoked, just that they did smoke, though smoking is not illegal. Twist it around slightly. Don't get yourself caught up. Need help? Ask away.|||Not if you made the decision now. Especially if they tracked your comp.
Also, you have the right to plead the 5th. Just don't lie; they can't make you talk.
