Do I have the right to silence or can I be tortured to answer questions? Do I have the right to a fair trial? Will I be treated well as a prisoner - what kind of meals can I expect?|||you won't be silent, no rights to anything, it will be a treat alright, what meals|||Are you Chinese?|||What the hell are you planning to do? I wouldn't take a chance with a forign gov.|||Chinese rights. Once ur in a foreign land, ur allowed their rights and freedoms (which, in theory, should include those in the international charter of rights and freedoms but then again, no one plays fair anymore) only and usually varies. *nudge*nudge* is someone planning to become a nuisance at the Olympics?|||You are too paranoid. Officers even corrupt ones would never arrest random foreigners just for the fun of it.
You will do things that really piss them off--then they might arrest you.
If you do really get arrested, you have the right to call your embassy. You will be held in local precincts and you will be deported.|||Yep...Wilson is correct about the deportation and incarceration should you get arrested.
Public security in Beijing would simply deport your **** as soon as possible. However, i have a friend who got into a fight recently with a beijing taxi driver. He was held in a local precint for a week. He ended up giving them 7000rmb and was released. I guess it just depends on who you get. The rule of thumb is NOT to mess with Chinese police officers for the simple reason is that they are paid s%^t and have power.|||You have no rights in China, even the Chinese have no rights. Remember Tiananmen Square? They can shoot you in the face if they want.
