Okay everything was going fine with me and this guy but like usual on most 1st dates there was a point when our conversation hit a snag and there was a moment of awkard silence. In my attempt to make him at ease I decided to break the silence with a fart.
He gave me a dirty look and left. What did I do wrong? I mean no one likes awkward silences, right?|||You destroyed his manhood. You were supposed to wait for him to go first, then you were to answer with your own. He just couldn't handle a strong woman who wasn't willingly to sit around submissively.
I guess your date hasn't read the etiquette book or he would have understood that a small release at the table is normal and shows that a lady has confidence.|||the fart is the thing that went wroung .ur never spost to do that. i neer do that in front of anyone.

I'm too shy to ask..but do you think he likes me?
This is just a typical "does he like me" question. So there is this guy. We are both 16, but can't drive..YET. Anyway, I know him from soccer. We go to the same club and I'm really crushing on him, but I don't know if he feels the same way. So here are some things that make me feel like he DOES like me.
1. He makes really deep eye contact with me and smiles really big when we're talking.
2. We talk after soccer (which is like 3 times a week).
3. Yesterday after playing, I was stretching by myself on the grass next to the bench and he came over to sit right across from me and started stretching and talking to me. It was really cute because he was making all these jokes and I would laugh and then there would be awkward silence. But I really liked it..I hope he enjoyed it as much as me.
4. There's a soccer tournament that we are going to in September and I told him that I might not go and he's like "NO, if you don't go, I won't go either!"
5. He gave me his number.
6. If we're standing in a large group, he always floats next to me and if I say something that no one else can hear, he always hears it.
7. He says I'm really good at soccer...like he likes to compliment my skillz aha.
8. I catch him staring all the time and when our eyes meet, he just keeps looking and smiles, but usually I have to look away because I'm so shy.

Why I think he might not like me:

How to find my phone when on silence?
Yes, this is a difficult question ,but this is one of my last hopes. I have recently misplaced my phone now I know for a fact that it is inside my house or right outside. I highly its outside but I have tried many things. Turning the lights off and calling in big spaced areas looking for the tinniest late if you can help me I would so very much appreciate it , you have no idea.|||Will it not vibrate when on silent?
If it will then you might hear it vibrating when you ring.
Ring it lots, as if it isnt in your house, someone might have found it and will answer.

Last friday at a school, before anyone got in the classroom, i put black dogsh*t in the teacher's black seat. It was a very thin layer so she wouldn't notice...it was the exact same color as the seat. About 20 minutes later, everyone started coming in the classroom, then the teacher entered...i also had a fart machine set up at the the chalkboard.........So, she sat down to take up attendance, then she went up to the chalkboard to write down the thought of the day...fortunately, she DID NOT NOTICE!!! She was also wearing a white dress....Everyone in the classroom was shocked and didn't say anything, dead silence...right at that moment, i pressed the fart machine button about 40 times (i had it set up in my shoe so no one could find out who was doing it...was pressing the button with my big toe). Anyway, she immediately ran to the principal and he came to the class, but they didn't catch me or even know it was me.........Is this the best prank ever? I executed it PERFECTLY!|||lol, it's way too good to be true!!! she sounds like she deserved it. and that is HIGHLY clever with the big toe and everything, by the way. yes, best prank ever. hmmm..... you gave me ideas.....|||No! What's the right way to end a business phone call?
At work, I am absolutely terrible at ending a phone call. I either cut the person off too quickly with a 'bye' and hang the phone up, or there is an awkward silence as I'm waiting for them to begin the call-ending, and vice-versa.

For example, if someone called you to give you some statistics that you need for a report, you can begin the intricate call-ending dance by saying, "Well, great, I really appreciate you getting these numbers to me. Now I can get started on those reports." You have acknowledged their giving of the data, you have thanked them, and you have also told them your intention to wrap up the conversation. Usually, their answer will be something along the lines of, "Sure, glad to help you out. Have a good day, and I will talk to you again next week." That's it; you then just say good bye.
It works the same way with anything. If they called to give you a message for your boss, you briefly restate their message, even it it's just that she should return their call, you tell them thank you, and you say you are going to go put it in her inbox right away.
By stating what action you are going to take next, be it passing information on to someone else, getting to work on their request, or using the information they have just given you, you are signalling to them that you are ready to wrap it all up. If they have any other information to give you, they will generally jump in at this point with, "By the way, I also needed to let you know..." and communicate anything else they need to communicate. Can a place of work legally ask for you to break a vow of silence?
I work in a restaurant, a job that I strongly no longer want to work but has a good time shift and weekends off (the 2 reasons why I stay besides getting a paycheck). Lately I've been wise cracking to everyone, even sometimes myself, about the crappy organization (close to none) that we have at the place. I make the food and strongly believe that most mistakes are from the cashiers. (Statiscally I'm right.) The managers constant excuse is that the4 cashiers are new and are gonna make mistakes. The head cashier has been there for 7 or 8 months and is second in mistakes made. Since I wanna tell them off so much (managers included) I've decided to not speak when I am at my job unless it's towards customers. As retaliation my manager has told me if I do not speak I can lose my job, this coming from the "higher authorities" of the company. So I wanna know if they can legally fire me for not speaking.|||Absolutely. If they're directing questions at you or asking that you respond verbally and you don't, you are not performing your job. They have every right to fire you.
It boils down to this. If you believe you can stay and make a difference, follow the chains of command and stay within policies and rules no matter what. If you don't, you'll just get fired and labeled a troublemaker .
If you just hate the job and don't care about fixing the issues, then quit. I think between us here on the planet darn near all solutions are within our reach if not within our agreement, and that if we are really wanting a magic genie to grant our wishes, that's not really a God thing except in the most distored sense.
Let's say for the sake of argument that God is a faery tale and joke. What's your next move? If silence is all you get from God, do you just keep waiting or take action? Why wouldn't you just take action anyway? If what you're wanting is something only a magic genie could do, then you need to adjust your expectations because that's not happening, even if there is a God. Attendants and the limo?
Would you think it would be awkward in the limo if most of the atendants don't know one another?
It's a short drive, but should we all just drive separately? I don't want there to be an awkward silence right after I get married.
Or am I over-thinking it and being paranoid? lol

The thing to remember is that they all have a few very important things in common - they all know you, and they're all in your wedding. If it's allowed, crack open a bottle of champagne in the limo and pour a round and offer up a toast as a private first "thank-you" to all. If it's a short drive, it will take up most of it. :)|||Things will be fine don't worry.|||it won't be awkward...one of my friends met her husband in a limo ride ! lol|||Way over thinking the whole thing . . . have a chilled bottle of champagne and start the party.|||i'm sure the limo would be fine, there won't be akward silence.
but if you want to save money, just have everyone drive seperately. we didn't get a limo for our wedding. we just had all our bridal attendents ride with friends - most of them had girlfriends/wives or boyfriends/husbands to ride with. then me and my hubby had his brother drive us to the reception.|||You're totally overthinking it! It will be so fun don't worry about it! Everyone is going to be thinking about your dress and getting to wherever the reception is. It will be fun to talk and get to know each other you don't need to worry!|||It will be a chance for everyone to chat before the ceremony. Should be fun.|||There shouldn't be any silence! Scream and shout! YOU JUST GOT MARRIED! MTG: Silence question?
During my opponents turn upkeep I cast Silence. While I'm sure they could play an instant "In response to" my silence(am I right?), could they cast a sorcery or creature with flash? And how does the whole "You play card X, so I play card Y in response" thing work?|||Yes, they can play Instants in response to Silence, because it has no effect until it resolves.
Normally, they would only be able to play an Instant or something with Flash, or activate an ability, as everything else operates at Sorcery speed.
The whole 'playing in response" system revolves around the Stack, a very important concept to understand in Magic. The Stack is where all spells and (non-static) abilities go when they are played/triggered/activated. The Stack functions in a FILO (First-In-Last-Out) mechanic, so each item on it has to wait for everything else that has been put on more resently to resolve before it can be resolved. Dealing with a series of spells demonstrates it visually quite well.
Lets say I have 3 Llanowar Elves on the Battlefield. I cast Overrun, so it goes on the stack. My opponent sees this would be a major problem for him and casts Volcanic Fallout in response, so it goes on the stack on top of the Overrun. I respond by casting Giant Growth on one of my Llanowar Elves. Both of us decide not to cast any more spells, so Giant Growth resolves and gives the target Elf +3/+3. Then we both again decide not to cast any spells and the Volcanic Fallout deals 2 damage to each player and each creature, killing the 2 elves that were not targetted by Giant Growth. Then my opponent decides to cast Terminate on the remaining Llanowar Elf, so it goes on the stack on top of the Overrun. I choose not to respond, so Terminate resolves and kills the Elf. Then we both decide not to cast anything and the Overrun resolves. I respond by casting Giant Growth on one of my Llanowar Elves. Both of us decide not to cast any more spells, so Giant Growth resolves and gives the target Elf +3/+3. Then we both again decide not to cast any spells and the Volcanic Fallout deals 2 damage to each player and each creature, killing the 2 elves that were not targetted by Giant Growth. Then my opponent decides to cast Terminate on the remaining Llanowar Elf, so it goes on the stack on top of the Overrun. I choose not to respond, so Terminate resolves and kills the Elf. Then we both decide not to cast anything and the Overrun resolves. Question about the Film Dead Silence?
I'm 12 years old right, and have watched Dead Silence. I thought it was a really good movie and a good twist at the end. But what I don't get is it said in the book " How to Make the Best Puppet " or something. And it has the stepmothers picture on the back. So does that mean to stepmother was a puppet?
And also, was Mary Shaw working with the stepmother? Because when the Dad was calling him, the voice was coming from upstairs, so it must be Mary Shaw.|||The stepmother IS the perfect puppet and, through Mary Shaw's influence, turned the young man's father into a puppet. Mary basically possesses her creation~the beautiful stepmother, meaning that Mary Shaw is operating TWO puppets! When it flashes back in his mind and he's replaying his encounters with the twosome, he's suddenly "seeing" how his father's movements were more like a dummy's than a man's.

How do i silence my burgler alarm when i arm it?
In the house I'm in, theres an alarm which looks about 10 years old, when I arm it it makes a continuous loud high pitched tone for about 20 seconds which disturbes neighbors. Does anyone know how to arm it then silence the tone? The alarm doesn't have any brand name on it but it has a black number panel in the top right corner of the front panel and the model number '9448' printed on it.|||There is usually a 4 digit code you neewd to punch in. Try the 9448 and hit, if you have it, off or disarm. Disarm I think is totaly off. If nothing else call the alarm company.|||Call any electrician if you do not have the info on the original installation company. Your service may also be able to help you.

“ Del Wood,was my room mate in Korbecke,Germany, 3 Div Sig Regiment. This was the first time I had encountered this kind of death. I had served in the Falklands war and seen some nasty stuff there, but that was war. I have taken my wife to Belfast, she could not believe how close people lived near each other and still hated each others guts. This was the same in Bosnia, gulf war #1, Afghanistan, Iraq etc all places I served when in the Army. I hate guns, I hate war, i hate people who think war is a glory and I hate people who do not and never will understand that war is when the politicians have run out of ideas.
I met Dels Grandparents a long time ago (Del did not live with his mum and dad), I told them about our fun time together, with the only threat from the former red army. I was young then, I feel in an instant i am still in the same room as del.
God bless his memory, god bless all soldiers who find themselves in wars and situations that they never ever thought they would be part of because they joined up for a job and the vague idea of picking up a gun and actually aiming it at another person trying to kill them to defend yourself would become a reality. |||I think we have to remember that this was 30-some people. Obviously they do not speak for the entire Muslim population, although that portion of the general population does seem to have a greater percentage of fundamentalists then others.
Ideally, this doesn't even make the news. That is what these scumbags wanted. They wanted to be plastered on BBC news and the Daily Telegraph. Don't give them what they wanted, don't give them the attention they so desperately want and the attention that they don't deserve.
Now as for the people that did do this disgraceful act, this not a protest in my books. A protest is something to attempt to better society, not insult it. These people in my books are no different then the "Black Bloc" "protesters" we see at G8, G20, and other international conferences. I'm not British but as a Commonwealth citizen (who's country also celebrates Remembrance Day), I can say I would have no problem with arresting these types of people on the spot, regardless of what some of these "Civil Liberties" groups say.
