Is it not RIGHT and JUST that we pray or hold a 2 minutes silence......?

..when a British solider is killed in Afghanistan?

(for the soldier themself, the remaining soldiers fighting on the frontline and their families?)

Everybody I speak to either hasn't heard of it or hasn't given it a seconds thought.|||A moment of silence to honor a fallen soldier is never a bad thing.|||Why only the ones in Afghanistan? How long would we have to stay silent for to take into account all the people lost in these stupid wars?|||sounds right to me!! our troops are too often forgotten, until remembrance day that is!!|||It sounds the least that can be done. Surely the 2 minutes of silence wouldn't be objectionable to anyone, would it? 2 minutes for someone's life?|||In addition to thinking of the soldiers, we should think of the real reason they're there - and it's not for the good of their country.|||I know it's terrible when a British soldier is killed but how many people are really that bothered? People are more interested in the latest gossip about the McCanns than soldiers dying.

What you've said would be the right and Christian thing to do, but people are only Christians when it suits them.|||Of course it is right - We do not do enough at this time to support our troops as a nation - what ever our political viewpoint.

And it the last sentence of your question not incredible. It really shows the type of nation we have become. Very sad indeed, but as we in general show no respect to even ourselves - how can we expect others to show repsect to the fallen.|||If we did have a 2 minutes silence every time a soldier is killed anywhere it may just detract from from the respect we pay to all of the fallen on Remembrance Sunday.|||perhaps we should have a 2 min silence every month to remember all those who have died in any war|||Yes we should. Then bring the rest home so that no more die.|||I'm Irish so no I wont be joining you.Feel free yourself. Why did you not include Iraq?|||We should hold two minutes silence for ALL killed in wars.

Some are innocent, and some carrying out a needfull job.

Whatever their position in life, they should be considered; perhaps if the whole World did this, there may be less War.|||I do it myself, but what others do is up to them- this is called freedom of choice. You either use it or not.
