As it is Said
"Even A Fool When He Keeps His Mouth Closed Is Considered To Be Wise"
I would have to say To be silent is better than to be a loud mouth|||Because it is better to kill people with kindness and not say anything............|||depends on what it is...just be big enough to back up your mouth...|||i'd rather run my mouth standing up for what i believe in than reamin silent|||Better to be thought a fool then to speak up and prove everyone right.|||It depends. Only run your mouth if it is truly a subject that you have personal experience in. If you don't know what you're talking about, bite your tongue. Learn to pick your battles carefully.|||Silence, you don't learn anything if you're talking all the time.|||Right!
When your silent you can listen.|||Some silence is better...but if you're being attacked you should be able to defend yourslef.|||Ummm Silence is OLDEN|||The only time you should run your mouth off is when you know exactly what you are on about.Too many people run their mouth and don't have all the facts or any idea of what it's like to be in certain situations and it tends to make matters worse.|||Silence shows wisedom OR -more often- cowardness, lack of opinion and boredom
Sth not edgy is preferable
If you are silent, you lose the best part of your life. Try it out to see|||depends on the situation...|||Silence is good for two reasons........ to listen or when you are pissed at someone, nothing is better than the silent treatment. Ask my guy. It drives him crazy. : )|||Once things are said you can not take them back. And if it hurtful or offense others never forget. But many times it feels way better to say it and get it off your chest than bottle it up. Depends on the situation and who is involved but most of the time I say what I feel especially if it is something I feel strong about. One of the most very important times to stay silent and when silence is golden is when one has been drinking alcohol than it is better to keep quiet.|||It is better to say silent as there are many times that you something in anger and no matter how you try you cannot redress it and the person concerned stays hurt no matter what|||Silence is NOT golden in more cases than we realize. Silence is usually perceived as not being interested in what someone is saying. Silence can also be interpretated as being "ignorant" to the topic. When we "ignor" topics, subjects, statements, questions, etc., directed toward us, activity can die or escalate into something even worse.
A child who asks if they should or should not do something...what if you remain silent to their inquiry? What have either you or the child accomplished? Your "golden" silence could be the detrement of the child!
When Pearl Harbor was invaded, there had been a "rumor" that it was going to become under attack. WE chose to remain "golden" and stay silent! Look waht happened there!
The Titanic had been warned (predicted) about the glacier before it struck. This, too, went to "silent" and "golden" deaf ears! Nothing was done; nothing was looked into.
How can anyone ignor anything that is brought to their attention bevooves me! Many people (an animals, etc.) make gestures toward us, single each of us out individually or in a group for some form of attention. The attention may be selfish and may be a way of crying out for help. If we choose to "ignor" queeries presented in to our paths, we are not turning out back(s) on those who may really need us!
Of course, USE TACTFULNESS in any response. Sometimes a "I understand" response is all that is needed to appease the inquirer.
